How long does my hair have to be for dreadlock extensions?
Hair needs to be a minimum length of 4 to 5 inches. We suggest 5 inches but if you don’t mind a little extra maintenance, 4 inches is perfectly fine. Your hair must be long enough to support the weight of the dreads so the length will vary. .
Can I get temporary dreadlocks that I can remove?
Of course! We can install customized synthetic dreadlocks that can be braided in and removed. This style can last 1-2 months with proper care and maintenance.
Will Dreadlock Extensions work on my hair type?
We can install dreadlock extensions on type and texture of hair, and on any thickness! Sections size and dreadlock size are taken into consideration with any dreadlock extension installation. All loc extensions are custom made to your length and size preference. Also some installations may take more than one session based on texture and thickness of your natural hair.
What is the maintenance for starter dreads?
Starter locs should be maintained every 4 weeks for the first 3 months to tighten and train any unruly dreadlocks. This will help the locking process.
What is the maintenance on Human Hair Dreadlock Extensions?
Human hair dreadlocks should be maintained every 2 months at the salon. At home, be sure to use a sulphate free shampoo when washing making sure to separate each dread after washing. Lastly, palm rolling each of the Dreads individually to maintain their shape.
Will dreadlock extensions damage my hair?
Dread extensions are a protective style and will not damage your hair with proper installation and proper removal techniques
How are synthetic dreadlocks maintained?
Synthetic dread extensions do not hold onto dirt and odor the same way that human hair does. You can avoid getting them wet in the shower and just wash your scalp well with a sulfate free shampoo.
Can synthetic dread extensions be colored?
Although synthetic dreadlocks are available in all types of color – even vivid fashion colors – they cannot be lightened or dyed at the salon. If you’re looking to add some color, a few dreads of a different color can always be added.
